Less than two weeks before our flight leaves and preparations are underway! Hoot and I spent much of the last couple weeks hammering out an itinerary and planning a packing list. Among the things I still need: good earbud headphones (I bought a $3 pair and my ears bled a little), fancy underwear (Under Armor or Ex-Officio served me well on a previous long trip, but Morocco will be hotter and sweatier than South America...), slip on shoes, flip-flops, a rash guard (surfing), and a pack towel. The plan is to travel Morocco for about a month, starting on the central Atlantic coast in Casablanca. We've also been spending a fair amount of time attempting to learn some basic French and a few phrases in Moroccan Arabic, which we've retained about as well as a holey boat retains buoyancy. Here's hoping that most Moroccans speak a little Spanish or English, otherwise I'll be forced to save the day with my considerable mime skills. Vigorous jazz hands!
